The Detailed Procedures for Receiving Hackathon Award Prizes

(for 2022 Big Data Hackathon for San Diego)

1. Participant Qualification: The Hackathon is open to teams of eligible individuals. If a team is entering the hackathon, all must register on this form and note their team name. Each attendee must meet the eligibility requirements. The Hackathon is NOT open to individuals who are residents of a country, state, province, or territory where the laws of the United States or local law prohibits participating or receiving a prize in the Hackathon (including, but not limited to, Brazil, Quebec, Italy, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and any other country designated by the United States Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control). The Hackathon is NOT open to any individual whose participation in the Hackathon would create a real or apparent conflict of interest.

2. If your team is winning an award, each qualified member in the team will share the award money equally together. Award Prizes are taxable incomes for the awardees. The final checks will be issued to the qualified individual team members.

3. To receive the award prize, each winning team will email their team members’ name and email address to Dr. Tsou (mtsou@sdsu.edu) before 10/21/2022.

4. Dr. Tsou will email the “MISCELLANEOUS INCOME DISBURSEMENT REQUEST” (Link) form to all team members to fill out the form (adding your own addresses, email, RED-ID (if available), etc.) and then send the filled form back to Dr. Tsou.

5. If the winning team member is an international student with F-1 Visa, the student need to provide the following document along with the Miscellaneous Income Disbursement Request form:
